Beaverdam Swamp Crappie Fishing on June 3

I fished Beaverdam Swamp again on Thursday, June 3 in the evening. Caught around 50 crappie. Most were 6-8 inches in length and I kept 6 fish that were 11-12 inches for dinner. I also caught a two pound bass and several nice redear and redbreast sunfish. They were caught trolling the edge of the main reservoir channel adjacent to standing timber and a big weed bed.

I took my son on Saturday evening. We used a similar trolling pattern in a different area of the Reservoir and again caught about 50 crappie. They were a little larger (8-9.5 inches) on average, but no fish over 11 inches. I plan to troll a little deeper in the near future and see if I can find some larger fish.
