Call me Scrooge. My wife and I have made Halloween a date night. Last night was trick or treat in our town due to nasty weather forecast tonight.

We got to having up to 300 or so kids due to our house being in one of the nicer areas of town. When it got to 300, we decided nothing was forcing us to participate. Last night our next door neighbors had 900 or more truck or treaters. As we tried to come home about 8:30, our street was blocked with parked vehicles PLUS we met folks on horses in a neighbor’s yard. We’ve had enough. Bah Humbug.

Like "G" said Country living does have its benefits. I had 4 trick or treaters last night and they were my Great Grandkids.
Be safe and good luck fishing

I guess the kids are scared to come here? I do not live in the high rent district and we don't get much traffic through here to start with. I do live farther off the road, so maybe that keeps some away. I'll bet we haven't had a total of 20 trick or treaters come by in the last 4 years.
    I don't mind.

Dang y'all rough. I used to load a cooler full of drinks for my kids and parents on a wagon and we took off and probably walked about 10 miles total. All those kids and parents talk highly of those times to this day. That was about 12 - 17 years ago. I am happy for every kid that comes by enjoying the time and not in trouble in our world today.

T or T in my neighborhood was also last night due to weather forecast. Sorry kiddo's it was date night for us also. 42nd wedding anniversary comes before Halloween anytime !! Yep we got married on the 30th, but that's another story.

We usually turn the lights out and pretend nobody’s home....lol. Actually though we haven’t had anybody stop here since living here and that’s 11 years now. Hmmm, just jinxed myself and I don’t think we have any candy to give out..
