Default Weather Update for New England

Well folks, not looking good for us up here, sad to say. Temps all last week have been in the low to mid 20's over night, with highs barely making 50 degrees. Most days it's in the 30's & 40's. Sad. October has been brutal. Thank goodness no snow - yet! However, with these kinds of temps, ice on the water is not far ahead of us at this point. And, we're suppose to get a 'NorEaster' on Saturday, which will bring a light snow coating to the hills, high winds and heavy rain here in the western valley.

As far as crappie fishing goes, it's about all over for us at this point. We may be able to squeeze in another day or two out in the boat, but these old bones just cannot take the damp, cold weather anymore, even with all the layering and snowmobile suits, Sorel boots, gloves & wool hats!

So I just wanted you all to know that there will be few if any more "reports" in the New England Forum from Walt & I from this point on. It's going to be a LONG 4 to 5 months for us before we are able to launch again. Can't wait for late March/early April of 2019!

Happily, we can read all your posts here and that alone helps keep our spirits up! Thanks you all for that and God Bless you all and God Bless America.

Yup come on down south and thaw out. Visit some friends and go fishing. That should help speed up those 4-5 months. Heck go visit Slab in Florida and wear shorts...

Load up and come south. Plenty fresh down here. Just don't bring none of that white stuff with ya.

Being a sixer would actually be pretty nice.

I had 64 years of it up there so ive had it both ways.

Weather has been tough the last couple weeks here in Maine also. I made it out fishing last Sunday. It's not looking good for this weekend. Nor'easter. Heavy rain. 3-6 inches of snow predicted for some places here on Saturday night. Not to far north of me they got 5 inches of snow yesterday. The wind has been brutal the past 2 weeks. It sure has been tough the past couple weeks but don't give up yet. Early November could very well be mild. It happens a lot. I refuse to put away my boat for a couple more weeks. I just bought some new rubber boots for landing the boat and a 10 pack of hand warmers. Hopefully I can make it out a couple more times.
