    She said the water was too shallow to use the motor on their 15-foot aluminum boat.

    "We used paddles trying to get across the shallows," she said. "Then it got too shallow for the paddles, so we got out and tried to pull the boat forward."

    It was hard going. By 6 p.m., the boat was in about two inches of water and grounded.

    "Basically, there was nothing to stand on," she said. "We were in mud up to our knees, and then we were in mud up to our waists."
    Ummmm, what where they thinking?

    Seems to me that BACKWARD would be the way to go...but what do I know?!? I'm just a Kid.

    ...talk about a "ship of fools!!"...the father of that family oughtta be whipped with a knotted plowline for putting his family at risk like that...I hope the authorities billed him for the costs associated with rescuing his stupid a--!!!
