Default Lake Oconee Slab, My Biggest So Far!

Weighed 2lbs 5oz and measured 15 1/2 inches. Hit a Hal-Fly tipped with a minnow back in early March. Hope this picture turns out, this is my first attempt at posting one.

No can't say that I do. I just started slow vertical trolling for crappie on Oconee this year. You have heard of buck fever when a deer hunter first gets a glance at a big rack buck when sitting in the deerstand, well I got slab crappie fever when this dude surfaced, man talk about an adrendelin rush. Hadn't felt that way since 7 years ago when I caught a 10 pound largemouth in Lake Tchukalako in Ivey Georgia. Couldn't get to my Ego net it was covered up in the bottom of the boat so ole rookie had to wing it without it. When my hand finally clamped down on it's lips I let out a big sigh of relief. Was using 14 ft BnM Pro Staff rods off the bow. I know the other boat close to me had to think it was comical.

    Nice fish Countrytime.
    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.
