Default I really found the juice today.

We might have to rename ourselves the Crappie Costas. The NH black crappies were biting up a storm today. The boys and I kept a few for a dinner and CnR'd another 50+ fish between the 3 of us over a 2.5 hour float on the water from 1:30p - 4:00p It was difficult to paddle in to shore and leave.

Most fish averaged 9" in length. The longest of the day was 11.25". All were caught on 1/16oz pink jig heads tipped with black and chartreuse Crappie Magnet plastics and a spritz of Slab Sauce for good measure.

Presentations do not matter right now in this pond. Casting, trolling, vertical jigging, floating under slip bobbers - heck - on more than one occasion fish were biting the jigs right below the surface while we were posing and snapping pictures of some catches.

It really was fun. I can't wait for the next chance for us to head out to this honey hole.Name: IMG_20181006_142807943.jpeg

    Another NE poster!!! Yea!!!!!!

That looks like an awesome family day on the water and lots of action to boot. Can't beat those expressions on the boys faces; just great. That one fish in the 2nd to last picture looks like he had a close call from a predator (maybe a heron?) as a youngster, judging by that cleft in his backbone.
I look forward to seeing more of your trips posted up here and thanks for getting the boys out for a memorable day. Good job, Dad!
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

I'm sending Slab a pm to look at that pic of the 2 boys holding the 2 fish each. That could make next years calendar. Great post.
