pull the post out put the seat back in the mounting hole without the post
I have a 2011 Tracker Pro Crappie. When the front seat is it's post and the back folded down and I'm in the driver's seat I can't see half of what I need to as the seat is big and bulky.
This is a safety issue with me as I have had several near misses with objects in the water. When I remove the seat and post I have a much better view.
I need suggestions as to what type seat and mounting would have a much lower profile and view.
You could always just remove the seat & set it in the floor when running from place to place.
You could get a Millennium Seat, which does fold down flatter.
I started to say get a Butt Seat (bicycle style seat), then I saw the rod holder base in the picture.
I have the same issue with my tiller, sometimes. When on plane it generally isn't an issue. When it is an issue, I wiggle the boat side to side to see what I need to see.
A buddy of mine has a console and stands while under way. A habit he picked up when he owned a Grady White and fished the ocean.
Another option, pull that seat and pedestal and install one of those butt seats with a tall pedestal. There is no back and the height may put the seat above your line of view.

Same issues with my G3. Remove it completely, set the seat itself in the mount, get an extendable post and raise it higher.

Put a cushion on the drivers seat to raise you up a little....most drivers seats are too low.

I have an 18’ bass boat and have the same issue. After 9 years, the best way for me to deal with it is to remove the post and replace the seat low. Not the most convenient but the best result. I heard folks tell of some really scary close calls, one involving a phone pole marker post, that were enough to make me deal with the inconvenience.

I solve this same issue in my tracker boat. I purchase a millennium seat and raised the driver seat up by 4". This also increases the getting up and down from the driver seat. I raised the seat up using 4" metal which you use on building a metal buildingl and made a 17" x 16" box. I set the box on the floor and then replaced the seat on top of this. I did both of my seats this way and it work wonderful.
