Default First remote launch, how many of you try this

Dock at the lake was messed up because of water levels. I had a hard time getting boat off trailer so I decided to try the Terrova with remote to hold boat in lake while parking truck. I was super nervous and felt like a kid running a remote control boat. I left the remote on the dock because I was worried it would lose signal.

It all worked out but just wondering how many run boat out if needed and hold with spot lock.

I think this would also work if the dock was super busy and you had no place to tie up

will the remote / motor change commands if you take remote with you

    thanks for any input

I do that with my Ulterra every time I fish by myself. I always keep my remote hanging around my neck. I had to park far enough away from the dock once that the remote lost signal. The boat was still spot locked where I left it when I got to the dock.

I’ve taken my remote with me while my terrova is on spot lock. It can lose signal but stay where it was. The problem that would concern me would be if you mess up and hit another button n lose lock while walking away.

I'll beach it before I trust it on spot lock in the middle of the bay. Just not worth the risk too me.

yea, I'd be worried I accidently hit max speed too. lol

I don't have one of these motors, just a Powerdrive with copilot, even if I did I would be very apprehensive. I'd rather not be the guy at the ramp begging for a ride because my boat drifted away, or have to go for a swim.

I just beach it, that's why I have an aluminum boat.

That would be pretty scary! I'm sure it would work, but by gosh.....what happens if a boat comes by and sees no one on board? Would be an interesting situation. All in all though, it sounds good.

I've never tried it with the Terrova. Paranoid, it may get inspired to follow a saved track or head to a waypoint.

I have been for an early morning swim in the lake before. INVIGORATING! I also keep dry clothes on the boat.
