You're Killing Me Smalls !

SK and I aint been out in forever . The stars and moon and assorted other issues just don't seem to line up . I told him lets do some dock pitching this week and we had two options , one is sheltered and the other isn't . Well rain dictated to try the shelter option and off we went to the local mudhole .
We get there and I tell him I done well last Friday at lunchtime with a blue and chart jig and he opts for a much smaller jig . We get down there and he begins to make me feel like a beginner with the tiny jig in a way different color ?
I mean like he is on maybe 6 nice ones before I ketch my first crappie and its about 2.5 inches
Well the party continues and I tell bro this just aint right ….give me one of them tiny jigs in that color so I can be ketchn as well . SK says I aint got another one unless you want to go to the truck and I am like bro ..your killing me ...give me a jig !
So he gives me one that is a rather remote version of it and a bit bigger lengthwise ...I told him flat out I will cut the tail off it to shorten it and he says I gave it to you do what you want with it .
Well I start ketchn some but again mine are still smalls ...I am like well I guess at least I am getting bit . We hurt em pretty well and ketch all sorts of fish .
and I land a few decent ones as well …….of course it aint over yet …..and then once again ...
It happens , we are side by side and he sets the hook and its ON like donkey kong ! We both say I don't THATS a crappie and we really cant figure out what whale took his tiny jig and the fight rages on . After a real tough landing where I take an afternoon bath from said whale fish trying to land it for him , we get a photo of it and call it done .
whale subdued for a few photos and we are off to eat dinner .
A bud owns the bar and grill above the private dock and up the hill and we went for some hand dipped onion rings and a cheeseburger so juicy it defies description.
top it off with an ice cold longneck and down the road we went
fun stuff ,,,stay tuned AND yes we will do that again for sure

Good day at the lake. I think SK gets big fish award for this particular outing. That hog would be difficult to land from a boat, even more so from the bank. Hope he bought you a cold one for the bath!
