Default Favorite vertical jigging rod and reel combo?

Hey guys I searched but didn’t see any new posts asking everyone’s favorite jigging rod and reel in the past few years.

Looking at buying my first jigging rod and reel and would like to get everyone’s opinion on the best set up?

    Thanks in advance!

b/m 12 ft. Sam Heaton rear seat . Slater plastic reel (about 7 dollars) if fishing less than 14 ft. . Deeper than that go to pflouger president on the mid- handle version .

I really like my 10 ft duck commander double touch. Really light weight, super sensitive and big time back bone.

10 ft. B'n'M Buck's Graphite Jig Pole with a small spinning reel. Right now I'm using Abu Garcia's in the 10 size.

I concur with what has been said so far, but that's only if you only intend on vertical jigging. If you want to use the rig for some casting as well, or even trolling, you might want to try the 9' SHSS matched with a PP #6920 or #6925. JMO.

    St. Croix premier series rod.
Shimano Sahara or sendona reel. Just match up the lines weights between the two.

Without planning on using one, I won a SHSS in 10'. I found a reel that balances on the blank touch cutout, in my case a 1500 Diawa Sweepfire and spooled it with 8ib hi vis line. Excellent rod and I've punished it a bit, no issues. What they aren't designed for is over the shoulder casting. I split a lower section of the rod and BnM told me on the phone what I just said, and sent me a replacement anyway. I'm very happy with it.
