    Default Me Crappie reel help

I have one of Mr Bait caster reels that I spider rig with. I just change over to this reel last weeks and it been working good. But to day then you try to lock reel the reel so it would not . I can pop out the thumb guard manually to make it reel in but it will not pop out be self. Anyone know how to fix?

Were it me, and it was the Mr Crappie Slab Daddy baitcast reel, I'd contact Wally and ask him about sending me another reel, especially if the reel is still under warranty. (& probably even if it wasn't )

Sounds like the kick back spring in the thumb bar has either broken or come out of its proper position. I'm sure there's replacement springs to be had, or reel repair people that could fix it for you, but the repair/shipping costs may be more than the $40 for a brand new one.

I inquired on the labor to have a reel cleaned recently. $45 plus parts if they found a problem. I would pitch it and replace or follow CP's advice and contact Wally. Good luck.

Daytime is for crappie fishing,Night time is for limb lineing for flatheads, rigging crappie lines, boat maintenance, and reel repair. If new return it . Most cheaper reels now have cheap , plastic parts . Not as repairable as the old stuff. if I have 1 fail and can't get it fixed quickly, ( less than 30 minutes) I throw it in a box and it becomes a parts reel later on if needed.
