Outstanding, Yak !! That's gettin'r done !!
I'd hoped to get out and go fishing on Saturday, but life got in the way. Sunday was forecast for 60-70% chance of thunderstorms. It had been too long since I got to fish, so I took my chances that the rain might hold & went for it. Glad I did. By the time I paddled 3 miles down the lake to the sweet spot, I found three boats sitting on my most productive point (too many people saw me ketchn' there and it obviously isn't a secret anymore). It took almost an hour for me to find the right color combination of crankbait to get the bite going. The fish wouldn't eat the #5 Flicker Shad natural shad or chrome pattern that worked so well last month. They instead wanted Flashy Pink, Harvest moon (black) and the Chartreuse Pearl colors. The crappie were holding under schools of shad in 9 to 18 feet of water. I caught 31 Black Crappie and 7 White Crappie, with the biggest just over 14 inches. Also had 8-10 spit the hook. I caught 5 green carp, the biggest of them weighed 4 pounds. I beat the rain and paddled a total of 10.5 miles in six hours of fishing. Saw eagles, osprey, wild turkeys, and several blue herons. It was a great way to spend a day.

Good job
Awesome job. Nice yak setup.
Looks like it was a great day for arm exercise both fishing and paddling.

Wow, great gas mileage on that yak! That smooth water on the weekend is hard to come by around here. All my fishing holes are usually bank to bank with weekend pleasure boaters. Good catch and exercise!
Great report, thanks for sharing!
What time is it? IT'S CRAPPIE TIME!

I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
