Best reel pairing

Looking to purchase an Eagle Claw Featherlight Spinning rod/ 2 piece 6 foot -- what reel would you pair with this purchase? -- your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Personally, what I'd do is take the rod out to whatever local shop you have and put a few different reels on it and see how it "balances" with those reels.

What you want is a wide spool or long cast spool on the reel, for maximum casting distance (due to less memory loops to drag on your guides). Instant anti-reverse is another item that can factor into the function of the reel. And once you have a couple of them lined up, you'll want to put them on the rod & then try and balance the outfit on your outstretched finger at the front edge of the rod handle.

If the reel/handle end drops quickly ... the reel is too heavy. If the rod tip end drops quickly ... the reel is too light. What you want is for the rod/reel to balance level on your finger, or slowly dip towards the handle end. A tip heavy outfit will wear on your wrist/forearm, and make casting for any length of time uncomfortable. A handle heavy outfit will just feel heavier in your hand than it should. A balanced or nearly balanced outfit will feel lighter, more comfortable, and like an extension of your arm ... which is much more comfortable & less wearing on your wrist/arm, allowing you to use it much longer without fatigue.

I've got that rod paired with a Okuma UL-10 reel with 2# Stren Crappie mono.
