Default Check your batteries in this hot weather!

Early before spring I checked my batteries for their water level and they were ok. Today I checked them and it was really low and had to add distilled water to them. I have on board chargers but I think the heat is really working on them as well. My 2 series 31 trolling trolling motor batteries are alittle over 2yrs old so they could be wearing down as well as I troll, push, and long line a lot also. Time will tell. Just a FYI as it’s really been a hot one so far this season.

You are absolutely correct! When Walt & I got back from our trip today, I checked the Series 24 deep cycle - which we use for side pulling - and two of the cells were low on distilled water. We added the water and put her on charge for the night. She'll be all set to go come next week for sure. This extreme hot weather we've been experiencing dries the cells over time, even if garaged. Check your batteries at least once a month.
