    Default Question on GPS times??

Question for you GPS users out there. Is you time correct on your units since the new and early time change to DST. My GPS Garmin Map 76S is one hour behind. I thought the time came down from the satellites. I have never adjusted anything on it to get the correct time before.

Or is the satellites just not programed for the new longer DST. Just curious.

I just installed my unit back in the boat from winter storage. It was one hour behind and I didn't reset it. So either it's got a battery and kept time (I know it doesn't) or it works off satelites. It's Lowrance 332C. I know
I couldn't have reinstalled it exactly the same time I took it off last winter.

I have a clock in my house that runs off the atomic clock out west someplace. That one reset it's self to go ahead 1 hour.

    Default Gps

No the times will not change on the GPS. They are not programed for the new DST. It will however change at the old DST time change.. I am leaving mine alone until that time.

You can over ride most units. My garmin has one.

Your GPS probably isn't programmed for the new DST dates. You can go into "Set Up" and find the options for DST. If it is set on "Auto" it will change at the old DST time. If it is set on "Off" it won't change. If you'll change it to "On" it should show the correct time. I expect when the next software updates come out they will include the new DST dates.

Thanks Jerry. I figured you would be the fountain of knowledge on this question.

They latest update they are showing for the Map 76 is 4.0, which came out last November and I don't think it has the correction for the new DST.
