IMHO ... there isn't one. Two factors that are more important than line size/type is reel spool width/length & rod tip action. I've used many different brands of 4 & 6 pound test and 5-7ft rods (UL to Med power) and I generally get about 20ft total distance on a dock shot (skipping jig) and about 40ft total distance (rod tip to splashdown) when "shooting" open air.
I currently use a 6'6" very fast action tip rod - size 20 reel - 6lb test Vicious copolymer line.
