Default Anyone use the Ned rig ?

A lot of Bass fishermen are hot on the Ned Rig, made famous by Ned Kehde in In Fisherman magazine. Also called Midwest finesse. It consists of a small mushroom shaped jig head and elastec baits. Alot of Bass fishermen claim to catch a bunch of Crappie and Bass. The elastec is bulletproof and made and sold primarily by Z-man. Have any of you used this?

I use it quite often in the cooler months on my deep clear lake. The Spotted Bass love them and occasionally a crappie. It's amazing how many big fish will take it. Good bait...

Yes! Look for the weedless heads, that open hook LOVES to get snagged. Get a couple different sized heads, see what works for you.
Stick with heads that have the wire keeper on them. It's a real pita to get that plastic over a typical lead head barbed keeper.
Keep the colors simple. Green pumpkin, black/blue.
Dragging slow on the bottom can load the boat. As smithlaker said, it is amazing how many big fish that little lure catches.
Clear to muddy water, doesn't matter, it flat out catches.
    Drinkin coffee, missin fish.

I picked up some weedless ones, from a small Mom & Pop bait company, I want to try.

On YouTube, look up mikeybalzz, he has a few videos using the ned rig. He's also one of the most informative YouTuber's.

I use the ned rig all the time, I prefer the power finesse jig head over the regular finesse jig. I've caught several bass 4-6lbs on it. Never have caught a crappie on it but where we usually fish them isn't crappie type habitat.

Use it for bass fishing. Catches bass but I haven't caught a crappie on it and neither have my bass buddies or at least they haven't told me about it.
