Default Converts on Lake Barkley 6-18-18

A friend of mine owns a big sporting goods store near Ky Dam. I’ve been hounding him for months about Pico cranks and how effective they can be. He asked recently if I could take him (Jack) and an employee(Don). We set the date and time. I had just got the boat in the water when they showed up, rearing to go.

We started in a cove that has been productive for me traditionally. We hadn’t much more than got the rods on the transom set out when the first crappie was hooked and landed. Jack and Don were eager learners and took everything I suggested to heart. The bites kept coming and the box began filling up. At one point we had 4 big crappie hooked and netted at the same time. The occasional catfish made it interesting and those were added to the ice chest. We ended the trip when crappie # 39 and #40 came Name: IMG_1684.jpg

I think I’ve made some crankbait converts. Jack ordered the first of many shipments of PICOs last week. He and Don will be able to give 1st hand testimonies of their crappie catching abilities.

Great post and pics. This is a case of where the bait (Pico) caught the fish as well as the fishermen.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

WTG mrdux! And nice bunch of crappies! You made a posting last week using orange bone colored PICOs and I have never been fond of using orange and last Friday here in Indiana tried orange PICOs and it was the hot crankbait color then with the crappie slamming orange. Had to get a few more! Thanks for keeping us informed and educated all the time.

But how many gar did you catch? Just kidding,Man. The one in the forth picture on the right caught me probably 40 fish on Sardis Sat. They weren't anywhere near the size of yours.
