    Default almost skunked

I went yesterday , first time in about 3 weeks, due to too much water or muddy conditions.Only caught 4 dinks. I was not. sure where to try, since the last time I caught brim on the fly rod.Had a great day anyway. Now a days , it's about the going and not the catching. I guess that comes with AGE. Can't wait for the next trip and what I am going to try next. I always think I will catch them on the next trip. I always learn something but I don't always catch fish .......good fishing everyone, Hope you all have a more productive trip......crappie1133

That thought of getting them next time is what keeps a guy going. I’ve had days of not catching anything and couldn’t wait to get back next time to get them. And have had days of killing them and not being able to sleep thinking of feeling that thump or watching that bobber go down and same thing, I can’t wait to get back at them. Could be a mental problem or disease of some sort but I’m ok with it!

As we age we discover that savory bites are better than hog swallowing.

Like you said, even if you don't catch fish you usually learn something. That thing that was learned will lead to fish on another day.

On slow days, I don’t spend a lot of time fishing the same spot that produced for me the last few times I was there. I move to a totally different area of the lake that I have GPS marks and try there. On my home lake, I have well over two hundred spots marked and most have produced fish at some time of the year. I’m never skunked totally. Often, as I’m moving from spot to spot, I happen to find something new to mark and fish at a later time. I always keep an eye on my locator. When you have enough spots marked to fish and time to fish them, you should never get skunked.
