    Default depth finder help please

I have a humminbird xp200 on my tracker pro 185. The problem is the depth finder works if nothing else is turned on, or the big motor is not running. The depth finder goes to 0 depth till everything is off. I ran a new ground wire from the battery and even tried the ground off the side of the boat and the same thing happened. The hot wire is plugged into the fuse box, I have moved the hot wire around and it does the same thing. It has to be in the wiring because I plugged in another unit and it did the same thing. Anyone know what I should do to fix this.

Problem could be with the transducer cable routing. Try moving it around some. They are susceptible to RFI. If your xducer is on trolling motor, and cable is laced to TM power, this will cause some troubs. Just a thought. If you were close by, I could hook it to my O'scope and find the troub.

Take it off the fuse box. Run 2 wires directly from the battery to the unit with an inline fuse on the hot wire. You should run the wires away from any other wires. Like CP said If it's on the trolling motor and the xducer wire is run along the TM power wires, take it loose and separate them (You can protect it with that plastic wire tube stuff, I run my power wiring in it too) I put RF Chokes on my wires too. I don't have any interference on either of my units but the power for them is on wires dedicated only for them.
