With all the theft these days there is a courteously buffer of distance which allows us to throughly fish the dock, and not give the owner reason to have concern of their property, and definitely prevent an irate property owner from pouring gas on you. We owned a fish camp, for 10 years, when I was growing up. There is a distance when fishing other peoples docks that might not be illegal but is disrespectful. I believe if certain considerations are taken when around lakefront owners property there would be far less of these type of cases.
I have run across these people before. Best just to move on and let them be.

I am afraid if it was me the outcome would have been different. Me in jail and him you know where
all that gas could catch fire and burn the dock down. Just sayin'
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can generally count on Paul's vote.
One spark and the guy could have more than an assault charge. that is dangerous.
