inhave a 2008 z520 ranger with a merc pro xs 250 same year model motor will crank and run about 10 seconds and go dead. boat is in good shape anyone got any idea what a fair price to ask to sell my rig

Hard to tell without knowing what is wrong with motor. Go to bassboatcentral. Look in boats for sale. Should be plenty in your year rang. Figure a average price then deduct about 8,000 for a good used motor or rebuild. Think if you haven’t done this yet is take to a shop and find out what’s going on. Might be worth it to fix motor then sell unless you already know it’s beyond repair

It could be fuel related or sucking air

My Nitro did that this year. I had the carb rebuilt and new fuel hoses. Works great.

x3, you will take a bath selling it broken. You will get all the money spent fixing it up back, and probably then some.

I see a lot of high priced "mechanic specials" that sit around for months, the sellers don't see things from a buyer's perspective. A buyer is always going to assume the worst, and what they're willing to pay reflects that.
