    Default Line size preference?

What size line do y’all prefer for spider rigging? I currently have 10lb strung up but generally I run 6lb for all crappie applications. Curious what everyone else uses and what works the best.

I use 10 or 12 when spider rigging. 10 on my riggs and 4 on casting rods braid on some jigging poles.

What makes u run a heavier line? Is it bc if heavier weights/jigs or what? I didn’t know if that bigger size would affect the fish when pushing vs usin a 4 or 6

For snags so I can bend the hook easier. And keep going.

8lb. Mr Crappie Hi-Vis. 8$ for 1500 yrds at Wally World. I put as little on there as I can get away with usually less than 100 feet and I change it often

Do y’all use a smaller line for leaders and such? I was considering pre rigging my double drop sets using a 3 way swivel.

No...use 10 lb. mono all the way. I don't use three way swivels.....use loop knot about three inches long for upper hook or jig...come down 12 to 14 in and loop line thru a egg sinker three times then on down another 12 to 14 in and tie other hook or jig on. Less hard ware...less knots and can re- rig in just a few minutes. If I think I am going to be changing jig colors a lot I rig with fast snaps.

I like that idea. I just see most ppl using a Capps and Coleman type setup so figured that was the way to do things. When I single pole two jigs I tie them inline like ur saying so I will def give it a shot for pushing now
