Yup, we do out west...
Hello, I got a road runner kit from Bass Pro that came with six 1/16 jigs and six 1/8 jigs. It came with 2" bodies, 10 turbo tail , and 20 curly tail ,also 2". My question, do you guys use the same 2" tails with 1/16 and 1/8 jig heads ? With the 1/16 the smaller hook comes through the boby about 3/4 the body length while the 1/8 comes right to the end and has much more hook exposed. I like the lighter 1/16 jigs, but will I get less hook sets or short strikes due to the smaller/shorter hook ? Any advice at all, this is all new to me. -Thanks

i trim a little off the front of the tails making the 1 1/2 in for both size jig heads if this helps
I use the same body for both. I just rig the 1/16 a little off center to allow for more hook exposure. The 1/8 I rig the hook in the center as the hook will be exposed plenty.
A different trick I use is to trim the body at a angle on the bottom of the bait and it will give it more lift on my retrieves if the grass is too high and I keep getting snagged on my long casts.

You could probably stick a goat head sticker on an RoadRunner head and still catch some nice fish!

Mine are not like Roadrunners, but I double wrap the chenille on most 1/8 oz. and single wrap the 1/16 oz.
