I have blue or white on my boat. I can tie a jig if I had to but it's more for walk around. I still use my regular light for other tasks. The blue lights up florescent line well so that's one thing to consider. My boat came with the lights so I can't recommend any good luck with it.

I use blue lights on mine but don't use em much as I mostly day fish. See to tie a jig fine and the bugs don't gather.

Red is best for night time as it allows your eyes to keep the night vision sharper. My boat is a older polarcraft that I didn't want to spend a ton of money and time wiring for LED lights so I bought a 4 pack of hockey puck lights from Amazon for $15. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They run off 3 AAA batteries and are waterproof. I am going to glue a couple of them to a old foam cooler lid that I will tie to the boat and turn them on the Green light to attract fish in while I keep the 2 I mount in the boat on Red so I can see. They come with remotes so you can change to any color in the rainbow.

I installed Blue Water LED Pro Extreme lights in Green. Keeps the bug away, and have plenty of light for the rear deck, and front deck. I also added a dimmer switch, so they can be adjusted as well.

These photos are from testing them after installation.

Not sure why the pictures are all sideways, but you get the idea.

I have both blue and white on my boat, I prefer the white when tying jigs but both work well. Just a heads up, don't over do it with the blue light if you're using light strips. Learned this hard way, nearly blinded myself the first time I used them night fishing.
