    Default What a day!

I took the day off to hit a lake 30 miles down road. Wind was high gusts. Traveling down the interstate one of those high wind gusts got under my boat just as I hit a dip in the road. Snapped the ratchet strap on the bow. I felt something so I looked in the mirror just in time to see my boat standing on end as it flipped upside down on the interstate. Nobody behind me was hit or injured thankfully. Boat contents were scattered 1/4 mile behind me. The hull is twisted about 2". The outboard lost it's prop, cowl, and the rest is heavily scraped. Strangely the motor started and ran fine. Trolling motor battery cables and depth finder cables snapped when battery became air-born. 2 brand new Wise seats are trashed. Other unpleasant war wounds too numerous to mention.

What really burns me is THE FISH WERE BITING WELL

A lot of boat trailers have a safety chain from trailer frame to bow eye for this reason....my last two boats came with them. Sorry for your bad luck.

Routine things can go very wrong in a very short period of time and sometimes it would have only taken a minute or two
more to completely avoid it. Sorry for your mishap.

Glad no one was hurt beside the boat.

I know it stinks, but glad it wasn’t worse.

Wow,hate to hear stuff like that. After hearing your story I might look into rigging a chain or something up like G mentioned for some extra protection should my bow strap break or fail.Hopefully you can get your rig fixed up and get back out there soon.

That's tough! I would be sick. I have always had a safety chain.
