Default Hey Grizz a Pic for you

Well the wife and I went out about 10:30 this morning and we just finished cleaning them and putting them in the freezer and it's 3:15. Anyway we got about 30 keeping 12 nice ones with 7 of the being better than 12" and 4 of them at 13 1/2". We fished trolling water 7'-10' with 1/16 oz black and FL. yellow jigs. Had a lot of fun, but lost the big one today as he pulled off as I got him to the top.

Anyway Grizz I know you wanted the jig still in their mouth while in the boat, but this is the best I could do was after we got back and the jig is the one that worked today. It was nice and cloudy all day so far.

You said you fished water 7 to 10 feet deep.

Can I ask how deep you had the jigs?

    Thanks.

I really don't know for sure, but I was using my 10' pole and had about 20' of line out from the tip and the troll motor was on 3 of 10. The jig is 1/16 oz.

I can also tell you I was about 50' off the bank and there is some good elevation changes running down that bank and I was going down the bank and there was only 1 small area we would pick them up in so I had out a buoy to mark where I wanted the boat to go. I pitched it out when I caught my biggest fish and kept going by that spot for a while. I did catch some on the end bank too, but in the same water depth. This spot is like a big pocket with a nice point at each end and I fish the same 2 sides every time I go there. There is a East bank with point and a West bank with point. I fish the East side and the South side. The North side is open water with timber and then a boat lane.

    Hope this helps,

Haha - Thanks Skip. Those look like some nice ones. They sure make that jig look small. Good job. It was 61 degrees here today and the ice on the lake was lookin awful pulpy. Who knows maybe this week it'll break up. YEEHAAWW!!
Good things come to those who bait.
