I think it depends on the amount of rain and the amount of lightining flashes during the storm. Too much of either will push the fish deeper.
I am heading down to the LOTO this weekend and thinking the thunderstorms will drive the crappie a little deeper and out from the backs of the coves. With the stained water, the darker colors might win out. What is your take on depth and lure color?

They will be doing their thing and move quickly back the spawning areas unless it is a real big storm. Keep in mind not all of the fish spawn at the same depth, this is influenced by the structure anf grade of the bank. Good luck normally I would wait a day or two after a big storm but not in the spawn get out as often as you can

When a lake comes up spawning fish stay where they are, hence the thought they move deeper. Fish out from the bank until you find them. Try a Roadrunner head with a curly tail grub. You may get a wally surprise.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.wolfhnd, MinnowDipper LIKED above postdfar thanked you for this post
