Sorry for the hijack. Where can I find either of these? Thanks. My guess is marketing tho.

I think this is the company's finely seeing that the crappie fishing is getting just as big as bass fishing. They are starting to change some of the advertising to draw in the crappie fishermen.

My guess is that it's the same line. I hope so anyway. I got tired of paying $6 for 200 yards of Crappie Mono and just bought a 3300 yard spool of "Original" Stren Hi Vis Gold. It just came in yesterday, literally 5 minutes before I left to go fishing and I had just finished topping off 3 reels with the last spool of Crappie Mono that I had, so I haven't used it yet. It looks to be the same exact color. I'll report back Monday when I spool up a couple of reels with it.

It's not the same line. The difference is in the diameter. Stren Crappie Mono is thinner and closer to the "true" breaking strain of the line. For example, 4# Stren Crappie is .17mm:
Stren® Crappie Mono | Stren®
... and Stren Original is .20mm:
Stren Original® | Stren®
I have been using the Stren Crappie 2# for a couple of years and like it.
interesting info.

deathb4disco, that's good to know. Next time I will order by diameter instead of poundage. I bought the spool that I did to use on trolling rods so the added diameter will make the jigs run slightly more shallow so I'm glad that you posted your info.
I too use the Stren Crappie in 2lb and like it fine. Been a Stren fan for a lot of years, seldom disappoints.
