Sounds like an awesome time. Girlfriend and I are headed down tomorrow for the weekend. Hope we have the same luck
Right not you can probably catch a limit of crappie in the time it takes to find a parking spot at Bucksaw.
Got to the ramp around 11 am and went up the lake to my favorite spawning bank on the grand and wow it was on fire! The males were right on the bank and the females were around four feet off less than a foot deep under a bobber.
Not sure how many I caught in that 40 ft stretch of bank but it was non stop action, never did catch anything under ten inches, mine were 11 to 14.5 inches and lost seven more nice ones.
Camp should be a blast!

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.Bigby LIKED above post
Forgot to mention with every spawning season there are people operating boats that are lacking boating skills, had one crazy guy today coming right at me and I was way over to the right almost in the trees and I finally had to stop so he could go around me on the right side
When he went by I tried to show him the error in his ways and some boating advice and lastly some sign language. Lol. He acted like I wasn't even there. And apparently the only bank the crappie were spawning on was the one I was fishing, got cut off several times so finally I just tied up and fished and as soon as I left they came in like vultures.

Way to go Brian. Always a mad house when everyone can catch them. Give it a couple weeks and we will have the lake to ourself again. Going in the morning to troll the break lines for some slabs and hopefully some more walleye.
