Default An hour before and 2 after

So here comes a big ole spring thunderstorm and a north whipping wind behind it . I decided to wait and let it pass and hit the water after it went thru . Man did it chill down and man did it blow and you know what ?
Man was I glad I went , I hammered the fire out of them until I got cold and tired and found some really nice fish along the way . Seems I wasn't the only hunter out there in the wind and saw the deer going on the feed bag when I arrived . I was the only human out in it on the north side of the lake and eventually went over the other side of the lake with other humans when it got dark . But even then they all stayed mostly in the crappie house while played out on the rocks in the dark . Used a little known big bait that resembles a crawdad called a Crawler made by crazy angler in a kind of clear pinkish orange and they ate fire out of it .
All the fish were up tight to the shore doing what spring time crappie do and I ketched them from 6 inches to 16 inches long like a windmill I tell ya , males and females mixed and they was hitting hard ! Got there an hour before dark and stayed 2 hours into the dark .
Don't think I quite got to a hundred fish but somewhere close in 3 hours and for sure it was good fun . Did try my 10 footer with braid on it a bit but still don't like it near as much as my float gig . About 18 inches under a float was the ticket and a super slow drag parallel to the shoreline would get it tore flat up
will take the day off today as it seems its going to howl from the north all day
    stay tuned my friends ...

Wish I could find some bank fishing in Central Texas. When the wind gets up the boat is less fun even with “spot lock” and other gadgets. Good report, brother.

Great report. Those are great little baits. One Crappie masters tournament at Grenada Lake, that was the only color we could catch fish on. Gotta love Crazy Angler baits
