Default 1st and only Crappie so far

went to the neighbors pond after work and caught the 1st Crappie of the year on a Charlie Brewer slider/1/16 oz minnow head jig, not sure of color clear metal flake with blue tail, was getting all kinds of hits but wind was blowing hard into my face and by the time I felt the bite the were spitting jig out..pond doesn't have many crappie in it but they are all big. Have caught a couple 16 in. or a bit better always turn them back. Also caught one bluegill about 9.5 in. and 5 bass about 1/2-3/4 pound.Crappie was right at 14 in.

Excellent! Hopefully sometime this week, we'll be able to wet a few lines as well.

went again this evening wind blowing out of the NE again pretty hard, actually caught a fairly small crappie 8.5 in. so means some are making it thru previous spawns.. caught a 3/4# bluegill had another one on and caught about a 10 in bass, all on Charlie Brewer slider black w/metal flake and chart. tail. they were hitting really good but were just nipping tail plus wind made it very hard to detect hits. better then sitting at home though.
