Default Crappie fishing in Northwest Arkansas

Can any of you recommend good spots to fish for crappie in NWA? No boat unfortunately, I'll be shoreline fishing.

    lake sequoia in fayetteville.

it's a great wading lake at the tailwaters. you need to scout it out first. but basically, i'd go into the tailwater, fish the fast stuff for sandies, then follow the stream for calmer waters. there, i'd catch crappie, kentucky bass, small-mouth, and the like.

for all fish i chose light spinning gear, floating a lure under a cork. any good 1/16 or 1/32 oz. jig would do. my method was to cast far and slowly reel in. if i remember correctly blue/white was a good producer, as was any combination of chartruse baits. hair jigs were my preferred choice. still are.

on several days i caught more fish than beers i consumed at goerge's beer garden. course, that was when i was in law school. now, i'm certain the beer would outnumber the fish.

    cheers,

    sv-
