I'll be out anyway.... Drift socks and all. The fish are going to have to go, and I feel the window will be very small this year.

Now,we get a couple of days nice weather before the next rain, wind sucks, Today, registering 15-18 winds and gusting to 25 mph or mor and now a wind advisory for tomorrow of winds at 40 mph. Can’t get a break to get the boat out in warm weather.

I have chains too, that will get me to a crawl if need be. Got a few days off, and plan on a little crappie and white bass. Some night walleye pestering.

Heavy rain Sat. Also, have the gortex rain suit also. No chains however. Will just make the best of it.

I'm hoping to get on Eagle Creek Friday. Haven't looked at the forecast in several hours. My boat and me don't handle winds over 15mph or so and definitely no whitecaps. I just want to see if the modifications I made to the yacht made a difference and hopefully wet a line for a while. I too got a rainsuit from Cabelas, just couldn't spend the money on gortex.
good days to head up river. there is always somewhere to get out of the wind on the river. i feel for you in the white caps.
Just went past the river at Williams and it was all whitecaps 1-3 Fter’s as we are experiencing average winds at 20-25 and wind advisory at 40 gusts and had a 31 mph gust registered at Bloomington last nite. Dang wind is rocking and a rolling for sure.

Eagle Creek is flat dangerous when its very windy, its like a big wind tunnel..about 20 yrs got caught out on it in a 12 ft jon boat when a fast moving front came in, winds went from about 5mph to about 30 mph in 15 minutes.. White caps were so big it stood my boat almost straight up in the air while trying to get back to the ramp. I never went back on it if there was a hint it was going to get windy.

I agree about Eagle Creek. It gets wicked quick. I about lost my boat 4 years ago. We didn't have time to take it out. It got trapped under the walkway to the dock. It received a few battle wounds. There was a jon boat that swamped at the ramp. I would much rather deal with the wind at Cataract than at Eagle Creek. We are going to try again on Sunday.
