View Full Version : Trolling setup

I just installed 2 Driftmaster 18" T-bars with 2 rod holders each on the back of the boat. Going with the same setup in the bow. This will give me 8 poles in the water. Do you like the idea of 4 - 8' rods out the back, 2 - 10' rods and 2 - 12' rods up front? Should I forget the 8' rods and invest in 10' rods for the back?

I would also like to use the rods for jigging, pulling crank baits, etc.

Doesn't that Lowe Stinger 195 have 3 across the front seat bases? Not sure what your trying to do, but if your pushing or pulling then two men on the front is ideal with a wide boat like that. Long poles for spider rigging 12 to 18 footers off the front deck. Staggered pole lengths for pulling off the side of the boat, example 16, 12, 8, 5 foot on each side. If you pull cranks off the back deck directly behind the boat you can use whatever lengths you want. As far as jigging with any sort of trolling rod it's not going to happen, that's jig poles. Little more info on how your trying to fish will make it easier for others to chime in with advice.
