Outstanding gesture for an old Sarge

I have been hooked on C.c since a neighbor told me about it several years ago. It is an awesome sight and I was lucky enough to be invited to help moderate it. For a retired guy looking for things to do , it was exactly what I was looking for. I have been fortunate to have made a number of friends through C.c , quite a few in person and some just on the sight. But every now and then you find out just how great our members are and how much they care about people. I met one recently when I bought a few lures from MonteSS through the personal classified, of which I am a mod. He noticed the USAF emblem in my avatar and put a picture of a bait he painted in his add for me to see. I commented on how great it was and told him a little story about a reel and bait I have in my man cave for display. The reel is an Ardent USAF edition and the bait is an F4Phanton square bill. The F4 was the fighter I worked on while in the USAF 73-77. Anyway to wrap it up, when I received my baits from him, there was a special bait he painted for me. I was speechless with emotion for a while, thinking that someone would do something so special for me. Like I said, you meet and make friends with some awesome people on C.c. William(MonteSS), thanks so much. I will add hooks to the new bait and display it proudly. As always, thanks Slab for such an awesome sight.

Hey man, it's like I've said over and over again. It's you all, not me. I just run the server. It's members, mods and super mods like yourself G that make the site what it is. And you're not gonna see stuff like this on Farcebook. You know what, tell your family about Crappie.com and get them off farcebook, if you want, I'll even create you your own family forum right here in a subsection of crappie.com. How about that. Maybe we can ween some off that 600 pound gorilla, that does nothing to add to the community. Might be worth trying.
