I have one on my champion and love it. If you pull up on shore or ramps they do save a lot of wear and tear on your hull

Known a few and seen lots of others that used them with good results. The only one I've ever known to be damaged was from Ice. Cut it and created problems and was ultimately replaced.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know of any other brands that may be cheaper? I checked amazon with not much luck. Really don’t wanan spend $160 to get this right after buying everything else for the new boat, but also don’t wana tear it up first time out. My favorite ramp has no dock when it’s at winter pool

Maybe take a look at the "redneck keelguard" post. They're talking about $100 for something ... so you might want to check with the member that quoted that price & see what it is and where it can be found.

If you really want to be able to ease up on a ramp routinely you might want to consider a beaching bumper. Its more money but if I had anything like a nice boat I would put one on it. I have one on my Fiberglass boat. I like being able to pickup someone right off the concrete. I put a nice rubber step on the front and it makes it easy. I ease up on ramp and just make contact then use the motor to keep her steady. If there are any waves the heavy beaching bumper is about the only thing that offers adequate protection.

Keel Guard won’t work on a sharp angle aluminum boat like my Excel BayPro203. Mine has a 15 degree deadrise but also an aluminum angle welded over the centerline weld. I called all the companies that make similar products and they said the guard would not stay glued on the hull.
