    Talking First 2# crappie!!!!!

Hey guys. I love crappie fishing and went after a 2# crappie they last few seasons even though I only fish a few times each year. We went out last weekend, boat wouldnt run and the weather was cold so we stayed on the brush. Fished 18' deep and caught 5 dinks. Tried moving shallower and there were fish on the finder but no bites so we moved backout to deeper water and then I got me a crapptacular fish :p . The crappie went 2-3. I have pics but need to resize and they dont do the fish justice. I may have to plan a trip to real crappie county and try my hand at a 3# one day.

Congrats Robbor!! Where did you fish? Piru should be getting ready to explode right about now.

    Default crappie

Lake Piru California, Im sure nowhere near where any of you guys live. We were fishing in about 10-15 mile per hour winds when she bit. I was just using a red, grn, yel tube and splitshot, nothing else added. Were were in lots of brush though and had to have lost atleast 20+ jigs. The pic does not do her justice. she was about 15"-15.25" and I weighed her 2x, once at the lake on their scale and once at home on my scale. I was initially worrying that she was only going to go 1.9 or so:p . I wish I still had my 100 gal fish tank. almost forgot, caught on a 28" berkley ice fishing rod.

Nice crappie. Good camera work too. Makes the fish look HUGE. You sure your scale is accurate? It sure looks better than 2#.

What cove did you guys hit? There are some killer spots on that lake.
