Been there, done that. Thanks for sharing.
Buddy and I went Crappie fishing yesterday, Sunday March 18, 2018. Left the house at 7am, dark, 25 degrees F, heavy fog. Arrived at the ramp at 8.30am with a nice coat of ice on everything. Fog had lifted, sun was out and in no time the ice had melted off. Highs were low 50's. Water temps, 45 or so where we fished. Fishing was tough and slow, rained all day the day before, but the entertainment was great.

Thanks for sharing...I think we all have been there done that at least once in our lives. Still it's funny when it happens.
Luckily the last time it happened to me I found out that my rod floats....lol
You taught him well! I think we've all lost one.

Yep! Fish enough, gonna do this!
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
I lost one over the side one day too, and a friend of mine in the boat hook the line and I got it back with a catfish still on the line, and it was a new rod and reel

I've lost a few down here. The gar hit hard. Tomtom lost one, FIL lost another, and I forget who else lost another. All off the back of the boat. I even have told them to put more angle between the rod and the line. They didn't, and the rod just flies out the holder with a hard gar hit. They shake their head so it's not always just a straight pull. Stuff happens, and I got a story to tell! lol
Hey Timbo, don't you know that's a Florida boat, it don't like the cold. Surprised it floated in that kinda weather. lol
