Trolling motor!
You are wanting a side image/down image fish finder and also wanting a trolling motor that you can use spot lock and set your speed with a remote. You are going to just have to save up money and probably get one after Christmas because of money issues. Which one would you get first? You have a nice 859 2d currently that you can use, and are getting more use to it every time. Which would you get first? You have a foot control trolling motor that works fine, but that aluminum boat gets hard to hold steady in 8+ winds. Which would you save up for first?

Trolling motor ... because you can't find the fish/cover if you can't move your boat very efficiently in the wind.

Been in your exact predicament...
Get the trolling motor first. Very frustrating when you've found the fish, but can't stay on them in the wind. (In my experience.)
Best of luck in your decision. Game changer, fo' sho'!
Absolutely get the trolling motor first.

Depending on how you fish but I would get the trolling motor first. When I am fishing my depth finders are the less used item in my boat. If I am pulling in known fish holding areas I rarely turn mine on. This is experience talking and fishing my home lake. You can get by without the fancy fish finder but the trolling motor is a must have. I know a lot will disagree but my 2 cents worth.
OK so by a slim margin I see that most votes would rather have the trolling motor first am I correct?? OK a question about a trolling motor, has anyone ever used the Minnkota riptide before with a pilot?
