Default Picked Me Up Some Roadrunner Heads

For my own box and thought I would share what they look like after I tied them. I have been doing well on several of these.

So what do you guys and gals think? Oh and all are 1/32oz.

    This body is extremely shinny...

This body looks like Pearl and shiny too...

Wow, those are awesome! I'm still trying to figure out how you work around the blade. You're the man Skip!

Thanks for the complement as I do appreciate it!

Well DC Crappie Kid, first I use a whip finish and a Matarelli Whip Finishers and I start out tying it just like any other jig and keep it in that position until the finish. I use a true rotary vise that helps a lot and I turn it up side down and just make wide loops to get the wraps I need the tighten. It take a little longer to tie these, but not all that much when you get use to them.

I clearly have a long way to go. But at least being 24yrs old, I have plenty of time to learn!

    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

Thanks You! I really just started less than 1 year ago, but I also had a guy that had 37 years experience tying flies tell me I was a natural. Don't know about that, but I do the very best job I can on every jig I tie. I have been able to catch way over 50 fish on one jig and never have been able to wear one out before I loose it to a snag. Even though I use 10# Power Pro and am able to bend the hook most times and get them back, but some time it breaks or get cut on the snag.

I had one jig about 2 weeks back I got back about 6 or 7 times and still have it, but usually I lose it after several times it gets snagged.

Very kind of you to complement me like that!

I have been pouring my own RR heads since Christmas. They will catch fish! I use tubes on the back of mine, it's easier and I am lazy. Great work.

I think this kid of head will catch fish using any tail, but personally I feel marabou is the very best thing you can use because it undulates in the water like nothing else. Almost like it's breathing and you don't even need to move it for it to be working. But that's just me.
