You might want to try rigging Jackson Branch just around the corner going right from ramp, or Cedar Creek just around the corner going left from the ramp. Watch the water color, we may get some rain. Jackson will have some color all the time (think a little shallower), Cedar will be clearer. If you don't have electronics with mapping, get a Hotspots paper map at the marina, it will show more options you may want to explore. Pay attention to how deep the water is when you start catching. These fish will relate to different depths depending on their mood. Also, don't THINK they have to be deep because of the colder water temps. Some guys are catching them shallow right now. Not spawning yet, they just like to get shallow sometimes. I usually fish from 5 -12 feet deep with my jigs or minnows year round. As I said earlier, they may be over 20 - 30 foot of water, but I don't fish my baits any deeper than 12 foot. I'm sure others will chime in, but that's what works for me. I would also add, talk to the folks at the marina, they want you to catch fish and thet will point you in the right direction! They also serve a pretty good breakfast!
