Default 03 Pro Crappie Tracker 175

I was wondering if anyone has any problems putting gas in this type of boat? I have noticed that it is not high enough and the gas takes forever to put in because it doesn't flow through correctly. Tracker said they can't fix it.

To tell the truth, most boats I've had are hard to fill with gas. I think it may have something to due with how the tank is vented. As the vents usually dump overboard, I guess they don't want gas to easily get in the water. You just gotta run the pump real slow. It helps to have an idea how much gas you use on an outing so when it clicks off, you know you are close to being full.

I have an 99 tracker pro team 175 and USED to have the same issues. Here is a good tip. It takes a little extra effort but then you wont have the gas spilling back out at you every second and getting on everything. Open the compartment that holds your tank so it is well vented. Un hook the tube on the back of the tank, that releases pressure. Usually it's just fitted with a clamp that unscrews very easy. Remove this tube before pumping and this get's rid of all the pressure in the tank that forces the gas back out at you. With the tube removed you can fill er up very quickly with no splash back.

Just remember to always put the tubing back on tighten the clamp and let the compartment that holds you gas tank air out any left over fumes. I have not had any issues since I started doing this. Before it would take me 20 minutes to put a few gallons in and I would get just as much on the boat then I would in the tank.

Also make sure you are putting the pump in at the right angle and putting it far enough down into hole.

I have a different kind of boat, long, flat tank under floorboards with
vent in front, fill in rear - I noticed something this wkend, I usually
end up parked at the pump a certain way, with the front of boat a little
downhill, and it fills fine. Sunday 'cause of traffic had to pull in the opposite way, front of boat uphill, and like to have NEVER got it to swallow half a tank!
Might try shopping around for a station with a sloped parking lot and try
both ways, see if it helps Jeff

I have the same issue with my 06. One thing that helps is to turn the nozzle upside down before putting it in the filler tube. The gas can flow a little faster that way.
