For a couple of Michigan yankees that is. The boat is ready, the truck is being packed and we're pumped up for our annual spring trip down to Louisiana for a week of fishing D'arbonne Lake, Poverty Point and Caney Lake. Hopefully all the rain won't screw up the fishing too much.

An old boss of mine had been meeting between 3 and 9 of his old friends on a Canadian fishing trip for 17 years when I last saw him. I kinda envied him for being able to take off for a week at a time to do nothing but fish for one, but more for the camaraderie of old friends that you never have to worry about saying or doing something out of place. I have a lot of fishing friends so I should just be quiet and count my blessings. The yearly trips always appealed to me.
