On positive wire for trolling motor located near battery and gas tank. I have a feeling this should be insulated. With at least electrical tape
I will probably solder in heavy duty car fuse with cap. But not sure amps yet?
    Any suggestions????

Its not a fuse, CrappiePappy is right As long as its in a protected area (no water) it’s fine. If you do tape it up, do not put tape over the reset button.

Unless your hull is grounded to the battery, there is little danger with it dangling around.

Just for neatness I would tie it off somewhere or attach it with double sided tape.

They do make covers that fit those things, but I wrap mine with electrical tape just in case water sneaks in. I like the manual resets myself, instead of auto reset. I prefer making the choice of when it is good for reset.

50 or 60 amp requirements may be different per TM brand. Mine is the manual reset, 50 amp for my MG. I have it stepped off the positive post with a $3 breaker mounting bracket I got from Grizzly

Cut a short section of old garden hose, split one side, place over studs and tape up. Then wrap in electrical tape no reason to take a chance on shorting out. No need to replace.
