Could use some help from locals

Hey guys, I will be in branson area first week in nov. 2018. Wondering if y'all may have a spot my son in law and I could go fishing ? Supposed to be a with wife trip, but if we had a public small water area , I would love to fish a bit. I have only driven through that area and it seems mostly boat fishing and private land.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I have researched the best I can and came up short.

Your assessment is correct. A boat is the deal on The Rock. You might try Lake Taneycomo for trout. There are areas you can fish from the bank, below the dam for instance. Stop at Bass Pro Shop and talk to the folks there. They can give advise on baits and probably areas.

you could get a guide for TR or you can fish for trout at Fall creek or heck right on Bass pro's parking lot by the bridge piers, limited out there before after getting bait and tackle from BPS.
