2 lb. Difference should not affect it very much....not much difference in dia. Between 10 lb and 12 lb.

I mostly pull Bandit 300 crank baits using 10 lb line. Some of my Okuma reels were ready to be replaced. I bit the bullet and bought 4 Shimano Tekota 300 LC reels. The paperwork with them says to spool them with 12 lb line. They hold 275 yards of 12 lb line. I haven't spooled them yet and am wondering if the difference in line size between 10 lb and 12 lb would make any difference on the counter.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

You would think they are calibrated using 12# mono. That's why they said 12#- I would think.
I doubt it will make a difference, at least not one that you will notice.
10lb Berkley Trilene is .011in and the 12lb is .013in. diameter.

The difference is 0.001 inches to maybe 0.002 inches between 10lb test and 12lb test mono ... on average. No biggie, IMHO.Originally Posted by G";3559063]2 lb. Difference should not affect it very much....not much difference in dia. Between 10 lb and 12 lb.
