    Default Type of line

I have used about everything for line fishing for pan fish. What I have now is Fireline but it is hard to find local. What are you fishing with and what poundages are you using?

I'll go the other way...I use an 9 strand braid, higher test, that is 4 pound diameter! Besides Crappie, I have Walleye in my lake.

I love Izorline in 12 lb test. Has the diameter of 4 lb mono. I use this as I am on brush 3 of 4 seasons and with this strength you can almost always retrieve your hung up jig. Our lake is almost always slightly stained so you can see your line and it appears the crappie cannot or do not care.

I been using Mr Crappie 6 lb hi vis for years. I vertical jig for crappie and other species. Also use Mr C 8 lb hi vis and Stren clear blue 12 lb for cats, eyes, bass, etc.

Seaguer, Daiwa, Kastking, and others, now have up to 20 lb test lines with 3 to 4lb mono size. Even Spider wire has some new braids that are 8 strand and very good.
