Default back from campin' with the boys...pics

Man, did we have some fun. We got set up just before dark last night and got some yo-yo's set out in time to grill some steaks and listen to the Razorbacks get smoked in the NCAA tourney. Undaunted, we ran our hooks about midnight and got 3 bass, 7 crappie, 2 channel cats. It got down to about 37 degrees overnight, making the fire a popular spot at the camp. The adults got chilly, the boys never did. At daylight we debated on fishing first and cooking breakfast second, or the other way around. I lost the debate, so we fished first. We should'a ate first cause we got mainly gar, drum and mud cat. After eating a bigger breakfast then they ever eat at home, the boys were ready to break out the jigging poles and hit the cypress trees, resulting in a few nice crappie for each. By 10:30 the wind was up and making life difficult for all of us. We broke camp soon after and the boys have been talking non-stop since then. When we got home, their Mama finally had to make then take turns telling her all the stories.
My bro-in-law and I have been camping out and fishing this little oxbow since long before either of us had kids, but we decided this morning that we never had as much fun then, as we do now. Good times.

That's what it's all about. Great pics and a great post. Keep up the good work and keep those young men at the lake.

How awesome is it that you get them hooked on something you approve of before they hooked on something else

    Good show!
I've been camping with my son off and on for years, now he's 44 and his daughter goes with us, she's 21. Now she takes other girls at college camping with her. This is the best time you'll ever spend with them
