    Default Using Crappie Nibbles

I've been reading about crappie nibbles and want to give them a try. Should I pt them on the end of a jig head or the end of a jig? Can you put them on a bare hook?

Any hints you guys have about these delightful treats would be great

I just put them on the hook. However, there is another thread that I have been watching which talks about injecting them into your jig with a bait pump.

Fish em like you want to.....The nibble is an attractor/bait....Here's an interesting buy if you're a bank fisherman....http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showthread.php?t=36540

There's also a "Bait Pump" that's talked about on these boards that's used to inject tubes and such with.....Hope this helps...DemoMan

All of the above ... plus, "injecting" them into hollow tube jig bodies.

1Weezer (Richard Williams) puts a jighead on his line, then puts a plastic body on the jighead, then puts a minnow on, and caps it off with a "nibble" (I think that's right, correct me if not). He uses this "concoction" to slow troll with.
Casting with them can be a problem. This is where the Bait Pump comes in handy. It injects the nibbles into the hollow body tubes, allowing for longer use time .... and less "waste".
Otherwise, using them externally on a hook or jig, you want to allow them to dry out a little, first (before putting them on a hook) ... since, coming straight out of the bottle, they're a little soft, and fish can knock them off the hook and/or your rod movements can. You may even want to put them on the hook/jig, and allow them to dry ... meanwhile, using another outfit.

None of this info is from my personal experience ... just what I've picked up, here on the site. .......... cp

I like the Wildfire Sparkle Nibbles. It makes the tube look like it's bleeding.

I just tried the Gulp maggots yesterday. North wind 15-20, rising barometer, falling temps and caught some good slabs. stayed on the whole time. Just a minnow and a maggot.
